The Phillies look to complete the sweep of the lowly Nationals tonight with Heavy B, Joe Blanton(9-6) on the mound. The Nationals have Livan Hernandez(7-10) pitching to try and salvage at least one win in this series. The Phillies didnt have great pitching last night from Lee but it was just enough for him to to pick up the win. Fans still had to worry about another blown save but in the end Madson bulled it off.

The Phillies have lived and died by the homerun all year and the last few weeks have been more of the same. They have left a ton of runners in scoring position and the last 15 homeruns have been solo shots. What scares you the most going into the home stretch, the offense, the starting pitching, or bullpen?

RBI Triple for Chase Utley that drives in Victorino from first. 92 RBI's for Utley this year. How many 100 RBI players are the Phillies going to have this year? 1-0 Phils top of the 1st

That was fast. Letting a shitty team like Washington stay in the game. 2-2 game in the bottom of the 3rd.

That was one of the best double plays I've seen in a long time Bekirk - imagine how much worse it'd be now if he hadn't made it?

So my buddy calls me up and says, "well, they almost won it!"
My reply.... "almost doesn't count." Gotta give the boyz credit where credit is due... but had it not been for the throwing error, well, we all know what would have probably happened. I'm glad Stairs came through... Howard has to S T O P going after those outside sliders!
