The Phillies yet again look to get back on track tonight in Washington DC with Pedro Martinez ( 3-0 )on the mound. The future Hall of Famer is opposed tonight by starting picture John Lannan (8-10), who I believe is listed in the ' Phillie Killer' thread on this site. The Phillies need to feed off the bottom of the Major League teams and get their asses in gear for the Post Season.

Now for the positive news, of sorts, The Pittsburgh Pirates yesterday clinched their 17th straight losing season, surpassing the Phillies 61 year old record. Go Phils!

It's plain as day that Lidge just can't be trusted to close a game until he gets his head on straight! Madson did a great job cleaning up after Lidge's mess. Phillies beat Washington 5 - 3!
