Rueben Frank of Phillyburbs.com and WIP broke a story that Quentin Demps will not be the starter at the beginning of the year, it will be Rookie Victor 'Macho' Harris at Strong Safety. Even though Demps got all of the reps in training camp on the first team squad, Harris prevails.

I like Macho.....I think he will do a good job.....I also think Demps will do a good job. Perhaps Demps will still get a good amount of reps? Either way, congrats to Harris!!

We all believe no one can fill Brian Dawkins spot with the Eagles but Macho isnt any worse then anything we currently have on the team.

This isnt as bad as some people think. Macho is a hawk. He can deliver a sweet hit. Lets just hope he doesnt have too many rookie mistakes this year. Also, lets hope Gaither plays like he did a few years ago when he won the starting job!!

The only thing I saw this pre season that worried me about Macho is he was always going for the hit, not the interception or to knock away the ball. We will see in a few days if the defense can survive without Dawkins or Bradley. We tend to forget that the Eagles defense has been bend but dont break so mistakes will be made.

Oh yeah, mistakes will most certainly occur. One can only hope they continue that "bend but dont break" mentality that has made them a great DEF over the years!
