In two deals tonight, the Dodgers bring in Jim Thome from the Whitesox and John Garland from the Angels. They needed another starter and a big bat. Well they ACTUALLY went out and got it. Not sure where Thome actually fits, considering he has been DHing the last few years. He has only played 20+ games at 1st since 2005.

Rumors are that Phillies scouts have been watching Nomar the past few weeks as another possible bat off the bench. They definately need help there. Pinch hitting not the Phils strong spot this year. Matt Stairs 0- for his last 30
