The Phillies will try to rebound against the worst team in baseball with Pedro Martinez on the mound tonight. The Braves have Rookie of the Year candidate , 9-2 Tommy Hanson. You can't expect much out of Pedro beyond five innings. So it would seem if history repeats itself that the Phils will have to depend on the bullpen. Knots are already forming in my stomach to think Madson or Lidge will be on the mound with the game on the line.

The Phillies get another opportunity to bury an NL East opponent. Hopefully we don't see a repeat of the Florida series

I think the Phillies will try to get a deal done before the postseason deadline, but I'm not sure what is out there to be had. It is believed the Giants claimed Trevor Hoffman, but it sounds like he will end up staying in Milwaukee. I would imagine the Phillies will take a look at some bench players, but I'm not sure there are too many significant upgrades available, unless guys like Nomar Garciaparra and Craig Counsell excite you

Chase will be a HOF...he has been a top 2nd baseman for years now. No one has been more consistent then him over the years at that position.

The carts were slightly before my time, but those helmet shaped ones were awesome. I actually got a mini remote control one for Christmas some years ago. Damn thing worked maybe three times before burning out
