Better late than never...

Just announced the Flyers have acquired the rights to Ilya Bryzgalov from the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for winger Matt Clackson, a third-round draft pick in 2012, and a conditional draft pick

All this means at the moment is that Bryzgalov is Flyers property. They can negotiate exclusively with him until July 1, then he would be an unrestricted free agent. Flyers acquired the rights to Dan Hamhuis last offseason, then flipped him to the Penguins when it became apparent they wouldn't be able to sign him. Hamhuis, of course ended up with the Canucks

Should the Flyers sign Bryzgalov, they would in all likelihood be carrying two Russian goalies next season. Somewhere, Clarkie is cringing

Flyers will have to get creative with the salary cap if they're going to sign Bryzgalov. Some rumblings that a deal or deals involving at least one of Carter and Carle could be in the works

The scuttlebutt out there is that the Versteeg deal is still a possibility. Some rumors floating that the Flyers would then take the third overall pick and trade it to the Lightning for Steve Stamkos. I think people are getting carried away now

I believe they have Lecavalier and St. Louis locked up in long term deals, and Stamkos will require $$$$. Tampa would be crazy to let him go though.

Dan Carcillo will be joining O'Donnell in Chicago. He gets a one-year deal with the Blackhawks
