The Phillies have Cole Hamels on the mound trying to get back the stuff that earning him World Series MVP last year while the Pirates have Paul Maholm on the mound trying to earn the series win. Its sad that every pitcher Hamels has opposed this year beyond the first game has had a better record.

What can we seriously do about Lidge? What do you think they will do about Lidge?

Utley opens the scoring with a solo homer in the first, Buccos with a second inning threat

mplant

Wow, what a play by Victorino!

Joining the game late tonight.. how's Cole looking?

mplant

Chase is smoking the ball tonight..

mplant
08-26-2009, 07:35 PM
Good inning for Hamels. Need to get him some more runs, though

Jimmerz
08-26-2009, 07:36 PM
Where the hell is the offense at? I don't have a good feeling about this game.

mplant
08-26-2009, 07:41 PM
Don't know what it is about PNC Park. The bats just go to sleep there

mplant
08-26-2009, 07:41 PM
McCutchen woulda had that if he kept running. Maybe Chooch can make him pay

mplant
08-26-2009, 07:42 PM
Guess not. Ruiz gets walked to get to Hamels

Jimmerz
08-26-2009, 07:47 PM
Lidge is unavailable tonight right? Would they even go to him if he wasn't?

mplant
08-26-2009, 07:53 PM
No way Lidge pitches tonight. Even if he hadn't just pitched four straight days, no way. Charlie will do the matchup thing with Eyre/Madson, etc if need be

mplant
08-26-2009, 07:54 PM
Even if it is "only the Pirates" Hamels has pitched his ass off tonight. He deserves a W

Jimmerz
08-26-2009, 07:55 PM
Jimmy might be back to swinging for the fences every AB..

sigh

mplant
08-26-2009, 07:56 PM
He needs to forget about those two HRs

mplant
08-26-2009, 07:57 PM
John Russell's expression never changes. You'd never know if they were 10 runs ahead or 10 runs behind

mplant
08-26-2009, 07:59 PM
Letting these guys hang around way too long tonight

mplant
08-26-2009, 08:01 PM
Hamels back out for the 8th

mplant
08-26-2009, 08:09 PM
1-2-3 for Hamels in the 8th. Could get interesting from here

Jimmerz
08-26-2009, 08:09 PM

When I see Hanrahan, I think of the goalie from Slap Shot whose wife was a switch hitter

Jimmerz

Insurance? Yes please.

mplant
08-26-2009, 08:11 PM
Howard single, Werth double, 2nd and 3rd and no outs. Wheels will tell you how the Phillies really want to get at least another run here

mplant

Note to Phillies: If you are batting with a runner(s) in scoring position with less than two outs, you are NOT required to strike out or pop up
