The Phillies have Cole Hamels on the mound trying to get back the stuff that earning him World Series MVP last year while the Pirates have Paul Maholm on the mound trying to earn the series win. Its sad that every pitcher Hamels has opposed this year beyond the first game has had a better record.

Where the hell is the offense at? I don't have a good feeling about this game.
mplant

Don't know what it is about PNC Park. The bats just go to sleep there
mplant
08-26-2009, 07:41 PM
McCutchen woulda had that if he kept running. Maybe Chooch can make him pay
mplant
08-26-2009, 07:42 PM

Jimmerz
08-26-2009, 07:47 PM
Lidge is unavailable tonight right? Would they even go to him if he wasn't?
mplant
08-26-2009, 07:53 PM
No way Lidge pitches tonight. Even if he hadn't just pitched four straight days, no way. Charlie will do the matchup thing with Eyre/Madson, etc if need be
mplant
08-26-2009, 07:54 PM
Even if it is "only the Pirates" Hamels has pitched his ass off tonight. He deserves a W
Jimmerz

John Russell's expression never changes. You'd never know if they were 10 runs ahead or 10 runs behind

Howard single, Werth double, 2nd and 3rd and no outs. Wheels will tell you how the Phillies really want to get at least another run here

Note to Phillies: If you are batting with a runner(s) in scoring position with less than two outs, you are NOT required to strike out or pop up
