The Phillies have Cole Hamels on the mound tonight and he is pitted against Mike Pelfrey for the Metropolitans. Is this the game where Hamels finally gets it going? I know it has to piss everyone off when Hamels says dont worry he will be fine for the playoffs.

*Billy Wagner had a simulated outting yesterday. He clocked in at 96mph. Still not interested?*

If the gun doesn't say 100mph... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Will Wagner still be a Met by the end of this series? He was claimed on waivers today, supposedly by the Red Sox. The teams have three days to work out a deal

Rain delay

I miss when they used to show old highlight films during rain delays. They should pull out some of the ones from when we sucked and didn't have much hope of getting better. Sticking it out through those years definitely made this current era all the more worthwhile

8:25 start time I hear.. Hmm what to eat for dinner..

1-0 Phils after 1

Am I the only one that thinks Hamels looks like crap? I wonder if since Hamels hit Pelfrey we will see a little retaliation?

2-1 Mets in the bottom of the 2nd with 2outs and bases loaded.

Hamels isn't hitting his spots, its that simple. Like Lidge I keep waiting for him to get his head out of his ass. What a difference a year makes.

Jimmerz
08-21-2009, 08:50 PM
He's less dreamy than last year :(

mplant
08-21-2009, 08:53 PM
It's his wife's fault. She has him toting around that dog in the backpack and it's messing his back up. Sarge also just suggested Hamels may be tipping his changeup

Jimmerz
08-21-2009, 08:56 PM
That could be it. He really needs another pitch.

mplant
08-21-2009, 08:57 PM
Strained right calf for Dobbs. That's a tricky injury. Could be cleared up tomorrow or he could just as easily go on the DL

mplant
08-21-2009, 08:58 PM
Hamels needs to rediscover the curveball. Hard for a starter to survive long-term on two pitches

mplant
08-21-2009, 09:01 PM
Wow, Rollins didn't even come close to making that tag. Maybe that can swing momentum

Jimmerz
08-21-2009, 09:03 PM
That call was brutal, it wasn't even close. There are only 3 umps tonight, would it even matter?

Ha Ha Ha I thought the ump had it dead on with that call out at second.

4-1 Mets Top of the 6th

mplant

Sarge just pulled out "cartoon-like." Can't remember the last time I heard him say that

Two on, no outs. Big spot in the game here

Jimmerz
08-21-2009, 09:08 PM
Beat me to it mplant -- the time capitalize.

Jimmerz
08-21-2009, 09:09 PM
Come on Ibanez, snap out of it.

mplant
08-21-2009, 09:09 PM
Rauuuuuuuuuuuuuul didn't strike out or ground to second, but still an unproductive AB

mplant
08-21-2009, 09:12 PM
Wow, that looked like a room service DP. C'mon, Chooch, let's get at least one more this inning

mplant
08-21-2009, 09:13 PM
A botched safety squeeze and the Mets still can't get an out. Gotta make 'em pay

Bekirk302
08-21-2009, 09:13 PM
I didnt know there was a difference in safety and suicide squeeze. Thank god Sarge was there to explain.

mplant
08-21-2009, 09:14 PM
Not good, Francisco. That leaves it up to Rollins

mplant
08-21-2009, 09:16 PM
Coulda used more than one right there

Bekirk302
08-21-2009, 09:18 PM
Did you hear Billy Wagners quote when asked if he would want to go back to Philly?

" **** No " LOL

Jimmerz
08-21-2009, 09:22 PM
Lol yeah I just posted a thread about it

Bekirk302
08-21-2009, 09:25 PM
I'm now routing for the Rangers to beat out the Red Sox for the wild cards. F Wagner. You know he is going to come back and get hurt again.

Jimmerz
08-21-2009, 09:27 PM
oh look it's the bullpen. how i've missed thee.

Bekirk302
08-21-2009, 09:34 PM
Alright I just saw Wagner in the Mets bullpen. What's his situation? On the radio I heard the Red Sox claimed him off waivers.

mplant
08-21-2009, 09:37 PM
The two teams have something like three days to complete a deal. If they can't reach a deal, then Wagner stays with the Mets for the rest of the season

mplant
08-21-2009, 09:43 PM
Sheffield gets tossed. Didn't seem terribly upset by it, either

Jimmerz
08-21-2009, 09:49 PM
I missed the Sheffield thing, what happened

mplant
08-21-2009, 09:49 PM
Ibanez leads off the 8th with a single. Feels like the Phils are about 10 runs down in this game, but the tying run is at the plate

mplant
08-21-2009, 09:50 PM
I missed the Sheffield thing, what happened

Flipped the bat at the plate after being called out on strikes. Got thrown out immediately and just walked back to the dugout without saying a word

mplant
08-21-2009, 09:52 PM
I think the Mets may have gotten a makeup call right there

Jimmerz
08-21-2009, 09:52 PM
Runs like a catcher

mplant
08-21-2009, 09:53 PM
Yeah, should've never been that close in the first place

Jimmerz
08-21-2009, 09:54 PM
He was out

mplant
08-21-2009, 10:18 PM
Well that game sucked. Hopefully Happ can stay on a roll tomorrow

Jimmerz
08-21-2009, 10:19 PM
Lol @ KRod. Do you have to be a jackass to play for the mets?

Spoiler feature:

You're two touchdowns back in the division

mplant
08-21-2009, 10:23 PM
And to think, that was actually a pretty subdued celebration by his standards

Jimmerz
08-21-2009, 10:26 PM
